「抓娃娃機」這個在前幾年很流行的東西
在英文裡叫 claw machine, claw crane, 或 skill crane
( claw [klɔ], machine [məˋʃin], crane [kren] )
叫 claw machine 是因為機器有「爪子」可以抓東西
( claw 就是「爪子」的意思)
而叫 crane 則是因為機器中間的爪子動的方式和 crane (起重機) 很像
skill [skɪl] 則有「技術」的意思
但抓娃娃機在亞洲國家比較流行
而且通常是 coin-operated [ kɔɪn ˋɑpə͵retɪd] 以投幣方式操作的
