叫 keep / have someone on a short / tight leash
leash [liʃ] 這個字指的是在牽狗出去走時用的狗鍊
所謂 ”用很短的狗鍊牽著此人走”, 就像用短的狗鍊去牽狗一樣
目的是讓狗沒辦法自由地走太遠, 稍微走遠一點脖子就會被勒住了
用在人身上是指嚴格控制某人的行為, 也就是台灣中文流行語中說的把此人 ”管得死死”
例如:
