到了要用時才發現自己不會講, 可是往往又沒有人可以問或也不知從何查起
外帶的熱咖啡外面套的這個防燙手的杯套就是一例
其實它的講法很簡單, 就是用袖子 sleeve [ sliv ] 一字
因為它像一個袖套 (有時記英文字是要發揮一點想像力或聯想力的哦~)
要講得清楚一點的話它是 coffee cup sleeve
但是如果你是在咖啡店, 想向店員要一個杯套, 就可以直接說:
May I have a sleeve (for the cup)?
如果有時一個杯套還是很燙手, 想多要一個的話, 就是
May I have an extra sleeve?
它另外的講法還有 coffee sleeve, coffee clutch [ klʌtʃ ], hot cup jacket 等
(順道一提: “書套” 也是叫 (book) jacket)
