「算數學」在英文裡的說法是 do math
它可以指一般生活中的加減乘除，也可以指解數學題
比如：

注意 calculate [ˋkælkjə͵let] 這個字雖然中文裡的意思常譯為「計算」
但它後面不能接 math 這個字當受詞
而要接實際要計算的東西，比如數量、費用等

(小男孩正在算數學。)

(我現在腦子沒辦法算數學。我太累了。)
例如：
I’m having trouble solving this math problem.
(我解不出這道數學題。)
His sister helped him work out the math problems in his homework.
(他的姐姐協助他解出作業裡的數學題。)

(僱用他的姐夫來擔任這個職位是個經過算計的舉措。)
She is always calculating how to get ahead.
(她總是在算計著要如何贏過別人。)
